Brize Norton Primary School: Considering Our Future
Welcome
Oxfordshire County Council, working with the Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust, is consulting on proposals for a new primary school at Brize Meadow, to the east of Carterton.
The proposal has been developed in response to two key factors. Firstly, there is a growing need for primary school places in the area as a result of nearby housing development. Secondly, there is an opportunity to improve the quality of school facilities currently available to local children by replacing the older provision with a modern, purpose-built school environment.
It is planned that the new school would provide education for children aged 4 to 11 and would serve the local community, including families currently attending Brize Norton CE Primary School. It is envisaged that all pupils currently on roll at Brize Norton Primary School will be accommodated within the new school.
The new school is being designed to meet current educational standards, provide appropriate teaching and learning spaces, and offer a setting that can respond to future needs over time.
This consultation provides an opportunity for parents, carers, staff, and the wider community to review the proposal and share their views before any final decisions are made.
